How Framer’s built-in form spam protection works
Framer Forms have built-in spam protection by default.
How it works
The system uses a CAPTCHA test (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart). It operates in the background, so your site visitors aren’t bothered by typing random characters from an image. Technically, we’ve created a mathematical puzzle that the visitor’s device must solve. Bots or bot networks typically lack the computing power to solve these puzzles, preventing them from filling out and submitting a form.
I’m still receiving spam—what can I do?
If you’re still receiving spam through a form on your site, it’s likely being submitted by a real person. Adding a CAPTCHA with an image might discourage some individuals from completing the form but cannot fully prevent this. In such cases, you may need to manually filter out unwanted form entries wherever they are stored.
Why don’t you support reCAPTCHA?
At this time, we don’t have a native integration for reCAPTCHA. However, we are exploring ways to improve our spam filtering in the future.
