Using Plugins

Learn how plugins enhance your design workflow and how to find and open them in Framer.

Plugins in Framer are third-party tools that expand what you can do with the app. They let you automate tasks, customize your workflow, and connect Framer with other services — all without leaving your project.

Finding new Plugins

You can browse and discover plugins in two ways:

  • In the Framer Marketplace: Explore all available plugins with details and previews.

  • From within Framer: Open the Plugins menu to browse featured and recent plugins or search for something specific.

A toolbar with various icons and 100% zoom control appears at the bottom.

Opening a Plugin

Framer plugins don’t require installation. You can open and use them instantly in any project.

If you want to browse Plugins from the Marketplace:

  1. Go to the plugin’s detail page.

  2. Click Open Plugin.

  3. Choose the project where you want to use it.

The Workshop plugin features an AI-powered assistant that generates custom Framer Components from text descriptions without coding. The page displays an 'Open Plugin' button, and shows that Workshop was created by Framer, last updated 3 weeks ago, is free to use, and has 67,799 users. A preview of the Workshop plugin interface is shown at the bottom of the screen.

If you want to browse Plugins from inside Framer:

  1. Click the Plugins button in the bottom bar.

  2. Search or browse to find a plugin.

  3. Press Enter or click a plugin to open it.

Below is a "Featured" section listing eight plugins with their icons: Workshop (marked "to Launch"), Google Sheets, Dither, CMS Export, Renamer, ASCII, Notion, and Search Console. At the bottom of the interface is a toolbar with various tool icons and a zoom level indicator showing "100%".
