Framer supports two ways to connect external AI tools. Framer MCP is recommended for most workflows. The local CLI setup remains available for workflows that MCP doesn’t support yet, including localization.
Use Framer MCP
Framer MCP connects compatible AI tools through a remote MCP server. It doesn’t require Node.js or a local bridge.
Use the local CLI setup
Use the local @framer/agent CLI setup if you need localization or another workflow that isn’t yet available through Framer MCP. This method runs on your computer and requires Node.js.
